Unlike traditional winter clothing that relies on layers for insulation, heated vests offers a smarter and more effective way to keep cozy. It’s a battery-powered system that heats up the heating elements to provide efficient warmth.

In this blog, we will tell you something important you need to know about the power bank, especially focusing on what power bank can be used with heated vests.

Importance of Power Bank for Heated Vest

Power Source. Primarily, heated vests are battery-operated. When plugged into the port, the power bank transforms the electric energy into heat distributed across the heating elements.

Heating time. The capacity of the power bank is key to determining how long a heated vest can keep you warm. Generally, a larger battery means longer-lasting heat. Most heated vests have adjustable temperature settings, allowing you to choose your warmth level. With a fully charged battery on the highest setting, you can enjoy warmth for about 3-4 hours.

Portability. A power bank offers a convenient way to heat your electric vest, especially when you're outdoors. Unlike heated blankets that need a direct power outlet, this design allows for portable warmth, making it perfect for those who work outside or engage in outdoor activities.

What Power Bank Do I Need for My Heated Vest?

Most heated vests use specially designed power banks to guarantee stable heating performance. So, it’s advisable wearers should not use other batteries for safety. When selecting a heated vest, the power bank becomes a key consideration, and below are some important factors to keep in mind.

Voltage

Battery Voltage

The battery for heated vests comes in various voltages, with common types including 5V, 7.4V, and 12VThe battery voltage is related to the output energy, and generally, the higher voltage can provide more energy to power more heating elements and maintain better heating performance. For example, Venustas 12V batteries are capable of delivering to efficiently heat 5-6 elements.

Watt-hours. Typically, battery life is assessed based on capacity, but some manufacturer labels can be misleading. For example, 7.4V batteries may be labeled as 14400mAh or 16800mAh, but these figures are often calculated using a lower voltage (like 3.7V or 5V). To accurately evaluate running time, it's crucial to consider the battery's watt-hours as well.
