Updated Venustas Heated Apparel Washing Instruction [2023]

15 Dec 2023

“Hi, my heated vest got dirty during my outdoor adventure. Can I wash it by machine or hand?”

It is a common inquiry from our customers. They always worry that washing the heated apparel is not safe, posing the risk of damaging the heating elements. Also, they typically think the cable circuits cannot get along with water.

Machine Wash

Well, don’t worry. Most heated apparel is machine washable thanks to the superior heating elements and clothing fabric. They usually can remain in excellent condition in appearance and functionality after washing many times. To help you know how to care for different types of heated gear, we particularly provide a comprehensive guide to Venustas heated apparel washing instructions.

Heated jackets, heated vests, and heated hoodies

Typically, our heated jackets, heated vests, and heated hoodies are machine washable. They are crafted with durable materials, like polyester, nylon, and canvas.

Down Feather

On the other side, it’s important to note that there is an exception when it comes to the down material. The down insulation is made of duck or goose feathers with natural loft and warmth, which is not suitable for machine washing to prevent the down fill from clumping together. So, if you pick a heated down jacket or heated down vest, it’s recommended to wash them by hand, or you can take it to the laundry store for proper care.

Machine wash.

  • Remove the battery from the zipper pocket, put the plug back, and zip it up.
  • Place your heated apparel inside a mesh laundry bag.
  • Use mild detergent and avoid bleaching.
  • Set the washing machine in a gentle cycle and wash it in cold water.

Hand wash.

  • Remove the battery from the zipper pocket, put the plug back, and zip it up.
  • Prepare a basin or sink with cold water and add a small amount of mild detergent.
  • Use a soft cloth or sponge to gently clean the garment.
  • Avoid wringing or twisting.
  • Lay it flat on top of a towel to absorb the remaining water.

Heated gloves

Our heated gloves are built with graphene heating elements and 3M™Thinsulate™ insulation for optimal comfort. Due to the difference in design and structure, the washing instruction for heated gloves is different from heated apparel.

Heated Socks

Heated gloves with a smaller size are equipped with heating elements, cable wires, heating buttons, and so on. So, they need more careful washing instructions. We only recommend our customers clean heated gloves with a slightly damp cloth, while the way of machine wash or hand wash is not allowed. Please read the cleaning instructions:

  • Remove the battery from the zipper pocket, put the plug back, and zip it up
  • Clean with a slightly damp cloth
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not wring or twist
  • Do not iron

Heated socks

Our heated socks are expertly integrated with ultra-fine composite nano-metal heating wires and COOLMAX® technology to keep feet warm and dry. They are versatile for outdoor activities including camping, hiking, fishing, or skiing. To maintain their appearance and functionality, the cleaning instructions for heated socks should be kept in mind. Our heated socks are safe for hand wash, and we don’t recommend machine wash.

Heated chair

Our heated camping chair is an innovation for us. It’s an all-purpose chair with a removable heated seat cushion to evaluate your camping experience to a new level. The nylon material is water-resistant to protect against elements. The carbon structural steel is stable, durable, and not easy to corrode.

When it comes to the clean instruction, wipe clean is the proper way. Just use a damp cloth to gently clean the stained area. Don’t wash the chair to protect the heating system and clothing fabric. Also, air dry it in a cool and well-ventilated area.
