Washing Your Venustas Heated Apparel? Here’s the 2025 Update You Need
“Hi, my heated vest got dirty during my outdoor adventure. Can I wash it by machine or by hand?”
This is one of the most frequently asked questions we receive from our customers. Many people worry that washing heated apparel might damage the heating elements or that water could interfere with the cable system.
The good news?
Most heated apparel is designed to be safely machine washable, thanks to advanced heating technology and durable fabric construction. Even after multiple washes, your gear can maintain its appearance and functionality, as long as it’s cared for properly.
To make things easier, we’ve created this simple guide on how to clean your Venustas heated apparel.
Heated Jackets, Vests & Hoodies
Most of our heated jackets, vests, and hoodies are made from durable fabrics such as polyester, nylon, or canvas—and they’re machine washable.
However, there’s one exception: heated down apparel. Down insulation, made from duck or goose feathers, offers natural loft and warmth. But machine washing can cause the down to clump. For that reason, we recommend hand washing your heated down jacket or vest, or taking it to a professional cleaner.
Machine Washing Instructions
-
Remove the battery from the zipper pocket, tuck the plug back in, and zip it closed.
-
Place the garment in a mesh laundry bag to protect it during the wash.
-
Use cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid bleach or fabric softener.
-
Set your machine to a gentle cycle and let it run.
Hand Washing Instructions
-
Remove the battery and zip the pocket closed.
-
Fill a basin or sink with cold water and add a small amount of mild detergent.
-
Use a soft cloth or sponge to gently clean the surface.
-
Do not wring or twist the garment.
-
Lay it flat on a towel to absorb excess water, then air dry.
Heated Gloves
Our heated gloves are designed with graphene heating elements and 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation to provide optimal warmth and comfort. However, due to their unique structure—including embedded heating elements, wires, and control buttons—they require more delicate care compared to heated apparel.
To preserve their functionality and extend their lifespan, we do not recommend machine or hand washing. Instead, follow these simple cleaning instructions:
-
Remove the battery from the zipper pocket, tuck in the plug, and zip it closed.
-
Wipe the gloves gently with a slightly damp cloth.
-
Do not machine wash, hand wash, bleach, wring, twist, or iron.
Heated Socks
Our heated socks combine ultra-fine composite nano-metal heating wires with COOLMAX® moisture-wicking technology, keeping your feet warm and dry during outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, camping, or fishing.
To keep them in good condition, hand washing is recommended—machine washing is not advised. Follow these care steps:
-
Remove the battery from the zipper pocket, tuck in the plug, and zip it closed.
-
Hand wash gently with cold water.
-
Line dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
-
Avoid machine washing, bleaching, wringing, or twisting.
Heated Camping Chair
Our heated camping chair is a versatile innovation, featuring a removable heated seat cushion for enhanced comfort. Made with water-resistant nylon and a carbon structural steel frame, it’s built to withstand the elements and provide lasting stability.
For cleaning, do not machine wash or submerge the chair. Instead:
-
Use a damp cloth to gently wipe the stained areas.
-
Air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area.
-
Avoid soaking or exposing the chair to direct heat or prolonged sun.
Conclusion
To ensure the longevity and performance of your Venustas heated gear, always follow the recommended cleaning guidelines. We hope this washing guide helps you care for your products and enjoy lasting warmth and comfort.
