When it comes to heated apparel, the battery pack is always an important element. Typically, we use the battery to charge heated apparel, including heated jackets, heated vests, heated hoodies, heated gloves, and heated socks. The Battery generates electric energy to activate built-in heating elements, allowing wearers to experience warmth in seconds. So, the choice of battery pack impacts heating performance and user experience.

Our Venustas heated apparel uses different types of batteries to maximize the overall performance in heating and comfort. In this passage, we will discover the battery technology to help you make an informed decision.

For our heated apparel, including heated jackets, heated vests, or heated hoodies, we use different types of batteries to provide power. The 5V battery pack is the first type used for our 5V heated apparel. To optimize the using experience, we upgraded our heated apparel to use a 7.4V battery. From the year of 2023, we also release our 12 V battery to enhance the power output and heating performance. So, what’s the difference between these batteries? Our customers always want to know which battery is suitable for their individual needs, and they will find useful information in the following.  

Voltage. Noticeably, the biggest difference in these battery packs is the voltage. For heated apparel, higher voltage means the battery has a larger output to power more heating elements. Simply put, the hierarchy of output capabilities reads as follows: 12V > 7.4V > 5V. While our 5V battery can only power 3-4 heating elements, both the 7.4V and 12V batteries are capable of powering 5-6 elements. On the other side, 12V batteries can significantly enhance the heating performance of heated apparel, resulting in more efficient and fast heating.

Capacity. The capacity of the battery determines the heating hours for heated apparel. Our 5V battery has a larger capacity of 10000mah, typically allowing our 5V heated apparel to provide warmth for up to 9-12hrs. While our 7.4V batteries has a smaller capacity of 5000mah or 4800mah, they still can offer 8-10hrs of warmth. Tailored for different needs, our 12V battery comes with two options. If you prefer long-lasting warmth, the Venustas-10000 battery is your first choice. If weight is an important consideration, maybe you can choose our Venustas-7500 battery.

Output.Our 5V battery uses a USB port to power 5V heated apparel. To optimize the use of batteries, we upgraded our 7.4 batteries and 12 batteries with DC ports. The USB port has exceptional compatibility, but the major limitation is the lower power output. In contrast, the DC port not only allows for a more robust power supply but also enhances better heating performance.

Typically, the weight of the battery depends on the capacity and material. Our Venustas-6000 is smaller, lighter, and faster-charging, enhancing more portability and convenience during use. With its compact design, it easily fits into your pocket or bag, making it ideal for on-the-go lifestyles. On the other side, our 12V batteries has no large advantage in weight because of the larger capacity.

Compatibility. 5V batteries can charge our 5V heated apparel and other electric devices;7.4V batteries can charge our 5V heated apparel, 7.4V heated apparel and other electric devices; 12V batteries can charge our heated apparel, 12V heated apparel, and other electric devices. (*Remember to plug your apparel into the proper port.) 

Warmth. There are many factors affecting the warmth of heated apparel, including heating settings, heating elements, or clothing fabric. Generally, the battery impacts the heating hours and power output. For example, our Venustas-10000 battery is equipped with 10000mah allows our 7.4V heated apparel to work up to 20hrs. Also, with the advanced battery technology, our Venustas-7500 battery can reach a toasty 140℉ on the high setting.

Use your Venustas Battery Pack

1. Make sure the battery is fully charged before first use.
2. Insert the power cable into the battery port. If there’s output, the battery indicator will be kept on.
3. Charge other electric devices with USB/Type-C port (5V&7.4V battery: USB port; 12V batteries: Type-C port)
4. Remove the power cable to turn off the battery within 30s.

Charge your Venustas Battery Pack

Connect your battery to the USB cable that comes with it, and then plug into one Of these three power sources:
WaII power outlet. Plug your USB charging cable into a USB power adapter, then plug the adapter into the wall outlet.
Computer. Plug your charging cable into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on a computer that's on and not in sleep mode. Don't use the USB ports on your keyboard.
Power accessory. Plug your cable into a powered USB hub, docking station, or other certified accessory.

Store your Venustas Battery Pack

1. Check the battery level before storage. Keep the battery level between 20% to 80%.
2. Regularly charge the battery if no longer using it to maintain the performance.
3. Keep the battery away from the moisture. Store the battery pack where the relative humidity is 65±20% RH.
4. Don’t expose the battery to extreme temperatures. Store the battery where the temperature is 77±20℉(25±20°C)
