Living in Louisiana I have never felt the need for a heated jacket. But husband really doesn't like the cold so I ordered 2 jackets when they were on sale. They work great and are very easy to charge up the batteries. They run a little smaller than expected but that may be because a close fit is wanted. If you wear a XL I'd recommend a XXL. Also, the bottom of the jacket falls a hip level at the most.
